Stuck?! Sketch

I'm back with that layout I promised you.

This layout actually took me days, I kept changing my mind. But, in end, I really love how it turned out! I also got to use some things from my stash that are really old...like 10 years old!

I based my layout off of this sketch from Stuck?! This is the September 1st sketch.

Here is what I did with the sketch.

I love this picture taken of Rick last year at an event on Post. Since he is officially retired at the end of next month, I wanted to make this layout for him. I'm not sure yet if I will frame it or put it in an album, I think I'll let him decide.

I hope you are having a great week, thanks for stopping by!

Interested in what I used?
Here's the list:
Embossed Vellum- K&Co (very old)
Cardstock - from my stash
Star diecut - very old from my stash
Stamp - Laundry Line
Distress Ink - Tea Dye
Letters - Chip Chatter Tall by Pressed Petals

Use Your Scraps

It's Monday again and that means it's time for another challenge at ScrapTiffany. This week Tiffany has said "Use Your Scraps".

I decided to go with a card for this one. I always like to try and use up my scraps on cards. I totally lifted this card idea from the Stampin Up 2010 -2011 Idea Book & Catalog. You can see their version on page 73.

I've  had this stamp set for quite some time because I HAD TO HAVE IT and this is the first time I have used it...lol  I got to practice coloring with my Copic markers, which was fun. I still have so much to learn about light source and shadowing...oh well, practice practice.
I used glossy accents on the truck windows, hub caps,  and a few of the hearts, but you can't really see that in the pictures. I really like how my version of this card turned out and I hope you do too!

Have a great day!

Interested in what I used?

DP - SU! Sweet Pea
Cardstock - SU! Rose Red, Old Olive and GP White
Stamp - SU! Loads of Love

Time Out!

Hey everybody....

I need to take a time out.
I have been super busy with taking care of two infants now, Rick started a new job, I worked at a festival for 30 hours this past weekend, I hurt my foot and I am waiting for some test results that I am nervous about. I am feeling stressed about not being in my craft room and I need to just relax. I am officially taking the rest of the week off from my blog and crafting so that I don't feel so anxious about not having something posted for you all. I'll still be visiting you though ;)

I will be back on Monday with another ScrapTiffany project and then I should be able to get back into my wonderful craft room and get scrappin', I really need to because I'm starting to fall behind and I miss participating in challenges.

I hope you all have a great rest of your week and weekend. I'll see you on Monday!

4 Photo Layout

The challenge thrown at us this week over at ScrapTiffany is a 4 photo layout. Before I show you my layout, I would like to take this opportunity to show you why I gave up on filming any tutorials.

When I started working on this challenge I went through my MANY saved sketches for some inspiration. I found this sketch,

This really cute sketch is from Creative Genealogy Scrapbooking. I picked out my pictures first and then the paper that I wanted to use. The more I tried to make my layout match the sketch the more frustrated I got. It took me about 3 hours to make this ONE layout and it doesn't look a whole lot like the sketch. Oh, there are bits and pieces of it here and there, but I started laughing when I thought about trying to edit a video of me trying things then taking them off. Trying things...taking them off...trying things...Oh, you get the idea. It's something I like to call "my creative process", just not much fun to film and edit!

Here is the layout that I ended up creating using this sketch,

I really had fun making that pocket. I almost cut up a pair of my jeans, but after much debate I decided not to. (it's my skinny jeans that I hope to get back into someday!)

I hope that you will join us this week at ScrapTiffany! I'll be here with another ScrapTiffany challenge next Monday.

Award for 2 Fabulous Bloggers!

As a member of the Executive Team at Papercraft Star I've had the pleasure of visiting many papercraft blogs. Papercraft Star wants to give recognition to blogs that we each find are outstanding in some way, whether it is the projects, the stories or just the fact that we want to pass along some support and enouragement to a fabulous blogger!

Today I have selected 2 blogs to receive the Papercraft Star Fabulous Blogger Star Award.

Char @ Scrapsational

Sharanda @ The Crafty Spot

I love visiting both of your blogs!

There are some conditions that go along with this award, you need to post this award on your blog, answer 2 questions and pass this award on to 3 people. Make sure the people you pass this award on to do the same on their blog!

Here are the two questions:

Scraplift Challenge at ScrapTiffany

It's Monday again, so that means another challenge at ScrapTiffany. This week Tiffany told us to scraplift!!

I sat down with a pile of magazines and looked and looked for something I want to lift...no luck. Then I looked through all of the items that I starred on Google Reader...no luck. Then, as I was going through that days blog posts, I found it!! Kristina Werner, who is one of my faves, posted a video tutorial on a layout she did for Basic Grey's Basic Inspiration Class. I really thought the layout was adorable, so I decided to give it a try.

Here is my version of what Kristina Werner did....

I couldn't pass up using this adorable photo of my precious Lucy and I. Last summer we took a 3000 mile trip on our Harley and Lucy went with us. This photo was taken on the side of the road by a beautiful creek while riding through LoLo Pass in Idaho.

You can see Kristina Werner's layout and video at the Basic Grey website.

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!

Don't ya hate it when...

I have the WHOLE day to sit in my craft room! Fantastic right? Well yeah, except I am totally uninspired to create today. WHAT?!? I mean come on, really? I hardly ever get a day to myself in my craft room. I'm so sad right now. I did make a card, it's okay I guess. I'll post it on here in a bit...but I really wanted a day of power crafting. UUGggghhh.....

I do have some good news, it's time to vote over at Papercraft Star. You can cast two votes for your favorites but you only have through Monday to get those votes in so hurry hurry.

OH, one more thing. Remember I said that when I hit 100 followers I would do a giveaway? Well, I'm at 99 so we are almost there! I am just dying to have a giveaway :)

I hope you are having a happy crafty day! (wow, that was cheesy)

Thrifty Thursday at ScrapTiffany

It's my turn to provide some Thrifty tips over at ScrapTiffany, here is what I found!

I happened to come across a website that is devoted to crafts that you can create with items from you local dollar store. The web address is, http://dollarstorecrafts.com/

After looking around this website and all of the adorable projects that are created from the dollar store, I was inspired. What could I find at the dollar store?

Here are a few things that I came up with.

Coffee filters, look at these beautiful flowers and butterflies created with coffee filters.

Dryer Sheets,

Did you know you can use a dryer sheet to reduce static before you emboss your project? Just rub the paper with the dryer sheet before you stamp. Not only does it help reduce static, but your project smells wonderful!

Another great thing you can do with dryer sheets is make these fabulous butterflies.

My friend Tracy makes these butterflies, you can see more about these butterflies on her blog.

You can also view her tutorial on YouTube. Here is the link for her tutorial,

Here is one of my favorite projects that I have found on the Dollar Store Crafts website.

So next time you are at your local dollar store, be on the look out for thrifty crafty finds!

Cardstock Only, no DP!

How often do you use cardstock only? I've looked back at my creations and, most of them have DP somewhere on them. Tiffany challenged us to use only cardstock this week.

I decided to make a tag and use some techniques I have really been wanting to try. I used a technique that my friend Tracy teaches on how to make stems and vines for your flowers. It was very easy, but there was a little bit of drying time. I made a ton but only used a little, so I have some left over for another project.
You can view her tutorial on YouTube, her YT name is tracylovestoscrap.

This little tag was actually quite time consumer, although I don't know if it looks that way. I spent about 4 days making this. Partly because of dry time and partly because I kept changing my mind on how I wanted it to look.

Here is what I came up with...

Be sure to check out what the other designers at ScrapTiffany created using only cardstock, and since you're there....why don't you play along with us this week!

Thanks for stopping by today!
