I am so honored to be a guest designer at 365 Cards today. I hope you play along with us today and jump in on this challenge.
Today's challenge is "Digging Deep" and here are the items you need to include on your card:
An item (not paper) that is at least 6 months old
2 sheets of patterned paper that you've never used
An embellishment that you've had for more than a year
A stamp that you've never used but you've had for at least a year
Anything else goes!
It always makes me sad when tiny details on a card or layout just won't show up in a picture. I hand painted the little blossoms with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. They just sparkle! I also hand sewed the twine around the bunch, this paper really led the way for this design. I also just love these metal frames from K&CO and that stamp was purchased in 2005 and never used!
I hope you decide to play along with us at 365 Cards today. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Interested in what I used?
Here's the list...
DP - K&CO Tim Coffey collection
Metal Frame - K&CO
Distress Ink - Weathered Wood, Vintage Photo, Tea Dye
Glimmer Mist - Marshmallow
Stamp - Vap! Scrap
Twine - from my stash
Hi there, Kristina! what a GORGEOUS card this is! I absolutely adore the marshmallow mist painting on that image. It looks just amazing, and how cool is that hemp stitching? I love painting with mists, but you don't see people doing it that often, it seems. I think it's just fabulous! Love the metal plate around the sentiment, too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lovely weekend! A BBQ and friends is just about perfect in my book!
I LOVE this card! I have this paper stack and have never used it. It's one of those I hate to cut into so haven't. Love the hemp stitched wrap. Awesome Idea! I know what you mean about the sparklies not showing up in pics. So frustrating! Jan and I have been talking about this challenge. I've never played there , but you guys seem to enjoy it, so I'm going to check it out today. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteOh Kristina, this really is so stunning. The glimmer mist sure does make those blossoms look 3d and completely real. I think you need to look around to get this published - it is way way better than most I see in the mags. And now I am going to be a copy cat and try the same technique. I could just keep going and going here blah blah blah with lots of !!!!!
ReplyDeleteI already told you what I thought about this card...but I'll say it again... this is the best card EVAH!! Best, Best, Best I tell you!
