Hi there! It's my turn for Thrifty Thursday at Scrap Tiffany and do I have a cute little project to share with you today. During the holidays I keep EVERY receipt from gift purchases. I have this funny thing about making sure that I spend the exact same amount on each child, plus it makes returns a lot easier!
I was at Michaels the other day and I saw this coupon holder in the dollar bin. I got an idea that I could spruce it up and make a cute holiday receipt holder out of it. I chose one with a green color to it to match some scraps I had at home.
Here is what the coupon holder looked like when I bought it.
I removed the band and the eyelet that was on the cover.
Then I just cut some scraps of holiday paper that I had left over from a recent layout to cover the outside of the book and the front of the inside cover. This thing was not exactly straight so I had to adjust some of the cuts. I punched a new hole on the cover and set a new eyelet.
Here is how it turned out.
I added some little tabs for the names of my kids and viola I was done. It only took about 30 minutes and cost me one dollar, everything else was scraps or things I already had in my stash!
love your altered receipt holder, kristina! thanks for sharing and have a great day! *hugs* steph :)
