Better Living Through Scrapbooking as invited me to be a part of their design team!! I am so excited to be a part of this fabulous group!

Better Living Through Scrapbooking offers weekly scrapbook challenges, scrapbook layout ideas, scrapbook page ideas, and scrapbook journaling ideas that help inspire you to scrap outside the box.

I am very happy to share my first Better Living Through Scrapbooking layout with you, but first...

“About Me Challenge”
Create a scrapbook page layout about yourself.
Choose at least 2 of the following:
1. Include at least one photograph of you (and only you).
2. Journal about yourself (i.e., your quirks, something you would like to change, your hopes, disappointments, etc.)
3. Use a traditional office supply on your layout.
4. Use foam adhesives or “pop-dots” to give elements on your page dimension.
5. Use an old book or magazine page as part of your layout.”

Deadline to enter October Challenge #2 (and all other October challenges) is midnight EST October 31st, 2010.

For my layout I chose to do all 5 elements of the challenge. This layout was a lot of fun, however finding a picture with just me in it was a challenge! Making the title out of letters cut from a magazine was something I had never considered doing before, but I love the result and it couldn't have been easier. I have a feeling that will be something you might see from me again in the future. I also really enjoy having my own handwriting on the journaling spots. I think it is important to leave samples of it behind for my family, present and future, something that I hope my family will treasure forever.

Supplies used:

Card stock - Bazzill
D.P. - Basic Grey Kioshi collection and Sassafras Pocket full of Rosies collection
Cricut - Accent Essentials
Buttons - Stampin Up Brights collection
Title letters - cut from magazine
Divider tab - Avery
Dymo Letra Tag Label Maker
1" Circle Punch
Generic index cards for journaling
ATG gun
Dimensional adhesive - Stampin Up

  3. Oh, congratulations, Kristina! I'm so happy for you! I hope you enjoy every single minute of your new DT gig. LOVE your first page. I pulled it up to a bigger glimpse so I could read your journaling, and I'll tell you right now....I couldn't have done that either. No way. LOVE the photo of the experience, though, and love the magazine title letters. Great use of the circle die-cut and adorable flower, too.
